Broke down at a roundabout, in the middle lane, thankfully a passer-by help me push the car to a side road. Didn't have to wait long for a patrol mechanic to arrive. He towed me to my home address and placed the car onto the driveway, he was polite, helpful and friendly even said hello to me five days later when I saw him helping a van driver in a car park. AA everytime.

Excellent and timely service. AA Mechanic arrived in timely fashion, mended car and we were back on our journey. Thank you AA. You really are the 4th Emergency Service

I broke down on the hottest day of the year with a two year old and a 73 year old disabled adult in the van with me. Towed us to morrisons at scarborough and then fixed the van there. They were with us within 20 mins and repaired the van within 3 hours of me making the call. It was exceptionally hot and both of the guys were brilliant. I think the first was called Andy and the other Richard Morley, thanks for your help and kindness.

Really easy to join , great value

Recently purchased breakdown cover. Sales advisor answered my questions without rushing me & whilst offering other related products did not try to push selling these. Professional and friendly. Not had occasion to use the breakdown service but I felt reassured that if this happens I will receive help to get me back on the road as quickly and safely as possible.

A 1 star review only because they managed a call out fairly quickly.

Can’t give more as the driver (Ryan) who showed up was nothing short of rude and proceeded to make racial comments and snide remarks who had offered nothing but verbal abuse and suddenly stopped when peeping toms starts opening windows and watching. Ended up making a complaint with the AA doing nothing about it due to a lack of substantial evidence.

Really doubt I’ll use the AA again due to poor communication with their customer service team, rudeness from their driver, to which I had the driver tell me he’s sent a photo of the car to the AA WhatsApp Groupchat to never lift the car.

There are 2 ways about speaking to people who have had a breakdown, be kind and honest Or be rude to the highest degree, upon calling out the wannabe (Ryan) for that, I told him i was being kind, polite and honest, he proclaimed he was being nice but changed completely after I said I’m going to report him, he claimed he knew people in the motor trade (probably failed as a technician himself so now pulls cars for a living pretending he’s answering everyone’s prayers) and decided to take out a bad day on me, and he lied through his teeth with snarky comments about who and what he knows in the motor trade making up stories without any information about people he doesn’t know (talking rubbish basically)

Before AA’s complaints team decide to get these reviews taken down, why not start giving your drivers microphones and little camcorders?, Ryan will tell you his version of events because he needs this job, he didn’t make it as a master tech (two can play this game) why not hear the truth from someone one who doesn’t work for the AA and was refused service once a driver felt challenged?

Now that’s out the way, the AA was quick to respond to the call out, it’s the only nice thing I can say about it, but I think that’s how they get you, charge you loads of money for the call-out then find an excuse to not do the job.

It’s a shame their drivers aren’t monitored and they felt the requirement to talk rubbish to a customer, if you couldn’t hack the work needed to become a master tech, be humble about it, as if working for the AA was going to teach you anything, be laughing at you once you’re in the gutter mate.

We had a flat tyre caused by a bad pothole in the road. We called the AA hotline and gave brief details. Within 10 minutes a AA van arrived and within a few minutes the technician replaced our wheel with a temporary wheel, we then followed him a few miles to the nearest tyre company, who unfortunately couldn’t help as our tyre size was specific to our car, so didn’t have a replacement in stock. A couple of phone calls and he managed to find a tyre company with our size tyre in stock.The tyre company changed the tyre for us in minutes and the AA technician (Ian) fitted the wheel to our car . The whole thing took less than an hour from call to back on the road. All round excellent service. Thank you AA

My car broke down tonight. AA came straight out. The guy was called Michael and did a brilliant job. More staff should be like him 10/10 mate

Decent good for many people who have no other means and general peace of mind

Waited 2 hours. When someone arrived he had come from only 40 minutes away and had set off as soon as he got the call. He was a breakdown truck driver not AA mechanic and couldnt fix problem.

The AA like to upgrade customers for loyalty, but fail to inform customers that they will have to pay the higher price next year.

Realy Great service and Quick response and very helpful ? ?

I lost my car keys whilst visiting a friend’s house in the wilds of Devon. I had a spare set in the car, but the car was locked. The AA arrived within forty minutes of call out, forced the rear passenger window which fortunately was manual, I climbed in and retrieved my spare keys. No damage to the window. Really nice and friendly guy from the AA. Thanks a million.

I was very pleased with the Patrol man and service.
